Setting the Stage – New Ideas & Fresh Perspectives

Donate
Like it or not, our world is changing. What we thought may have worked 5, 10 or 20 years ago is not going to work today for tomorrow.

What I want to see out of our community leaders is true leadership. The cost of living in all areas continues to rise under the status quo. We need to adapt and come up with creative solutions that work for more people.
Adapting to & Mitigating Our Changing Climate

Water supply & water quality, fire prevention and air quality are important issues, especially now. I believe we are at a critical tipping point and we need to act quickly with a holistic approach. The Municipality of North Cowichan has an award winning Climate Energy and Action Plan that highlights a wide variety of recommendations for mitigating and adapting to our changing climate. As a member of the Environment Advisory Committee I have been able to familiarize myself with this plan, the process options for implementation and I want to do more to have an impact to move things forward more quickly. Our homes, health, businesses and overall quality of life depend on it.

Having a water treatment plan without any water, is completely useless. We need to look at our natural assets and protect them while we can. It will only cost us more in the end if we do not act now.
